Zephyr Launches ITX-Sized GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics Card

PC enthusiasts looking for powerful graphics in compact systems now have a new option from Zephyr. The Chinese manufacturer has introduced the world's first ITX-sized GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card. Known as the Sakura Blizzard, this GPU features NVIDIA's AD104-250 chip and 12 GB of GDDR6X memory in a footprint of just 172 x 123 x 42 mm. While slightly taller than standard PCIe brackets, the two-slot cooler should fit most Mini-ITX cases. The card's pink shroud and single cooling fan give it a unique look. Despite its appearance, Zephyr claims this compact powerhouse can keep the GPU and memory up to 10°C cooler than some dual-fan RTX 4070 designs, although this claim should be taken with caution. Thermal testing videos show the fan spinning at 2,400 RPM to maintain GPU temperatures around 73°C under load in a 25°C room. Synthetic benchmarks reportedly show no performance compromises compared to full-sized RTX 4070 implementations.

Zephyr's initial production run in China has already sold out. However, a second batch is expected to be available in mid-July to meet the high demand for small form factor RTX 40-series GPUs. This launch follows NVIDIA's unveiling of new "SFF-ready" design guidelines at Computex 2024. As the power-hungry RTX 40 lineup entered the market, concerns were raised about the increasing size of the cards. NVIDIA's renewed focus on SFF PCs suggests that options like the Sakura Blizzard could become more common. For enthusiasts with limited space, having top-tier GPU performance in a properly-cooled Mini-ITX card is a significant advantage. Zephyr's ITX-sized RTX 4070 demonstrates that powerful capabilities can come in small packages, and we hope to see more manufacturers adopt this approach.
