ASRock Unveils Early Mobile-on-Desktop Systems Featuring Intel Core Ultra Series 3 "Panther Lake"
ASRock has introduced one of the first branded mobile-on-desktop platforms powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 3 "Panther Lake" processors. This launch comes just two months after Intel debuted its new processor generation, highlighting ASRock’s commitment to rapid innovation in the industrial PC (IPC) and industrial IoT (IIoT) sectors.
New NUC Box Models with Panther Lake-H Processors
The new lineup includes the NUC Box-358H, NUCS BOX-358H, NUCS BOX-325, and NUC BOX-325. Each model is equipped with "Panther Lake-H" processors, which are mainstream laptop variants adapted for desktop use. These systems are marketed under ASRock’s Industrial sub-brand, ensuring reliability and compliance for professional and industrial applications. All four models are TAA-compliant, making them suitable for government and enterprise deployments.
Chassis Options and Cooling
ASRock offers two chassis sizes for these NUC Box systems. The NUC Box-358H and NUCS BOX-325 feature a thicker chassis measuring 117.5 mm x 110 mm x 49 mm (WxDxH), while the NUCS BOX-358H and NUC BOX-325 are housed in a slimmer 117.5 mm x 110 mm x 38 mm enclosure. All models utilize active fan-based cooling to ensure optimal thermal performance for the high-efficiency Panther Lake-H SoCs. These systems are sold as barebones units, allowing users to customize memory and storage configurations to meet specific needs.
Advanced Memory and Storage Support
Each NUC Box model supports up to two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots, including compatibility with the latest CSODIMMs as well as standard SO-DIMMs. For storage, users benefit from two M.2-2280 slots per system, with one slot supporting PCIe Gen 5 for ultra-fast data transfer speeds. This flexibility makes the new NUC Box series ideal for demanding industrial and edge computing applications.
Connectivity and Display Capabilities
Networking is robust, with all models featuring the Intel BE200 Wi-Fi 7 WLAN adapter as standard. The thicker chassis variants are equipped with dual Intel 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports, while the slimmer models offer a single 2.5 GbE port. Display connectivity is a standout feature, with support for up to four displays: two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 2.1 via a 40 Gbps USB4/Thunderbolt 4 port, and a second DisplayPort 1.4a through a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port (alternate mode). This comprehensive display support is ideal for multi-monitor setups in industrial, commercial, or creative environments.
Power and Compliance
All four NUC Box models are powered by a 19V, 120W power brick, ensuring stable and efficient operation even under heavy workloads. With TAA compliance and a focus on industrial-grade reliability, ASRock’s new Panther Lake-based NUC Box series sets a new standard for compact, high-performance desktop solutions built on mobile processor technology.
