Thermalright Unveils Frost Tower 140: High-Performance Dual Fin-Stack CPU Cooler
Thermalright has announced the launch of the Frost Tower 140, a high-end dual fin-stack CPU air cooler engineered to deliver cooling performance comparable to 240 mm all-in-one (AIO) liquid coolers, but with a more streamlined and less cluttered setup. The Frost Tower 140 is available in three distinct finishes: an all-black version with black fins and heat pipes, an all-white variant with matching white components, and a natural finish featuring chrome fins and nickel-plated copper heat pipes.
Design and Build Quality
The Frost Tower 140 stands out as one of the larger dual fin-stack coolers on the market, measuring 140 mm in width, 146 mm in depth, and 158 mm in height (including the fans). Its robust construction incorporates seven 6 mm-thick heat pipes that make indirect contact with the CPU via a high-quality C1100 copper base, ensuring efficient heat transfer and reliable thermal performance.
Advanced Cooling with Push-Pull Fan Configuration
This CPU cooler is equipped with two premium fans: a 140 mm TL-N14DW-R7 and a 120 mm TL-N12W-R9, arranged in a push-pull configuration for optimal airflow. The 120 mm fan serves as the intake "push" fan, while the 140 mm fan is positioned between the two fin stacks as the "pull" fan. Both fans utilize durable double ball-bearings for longevity and smooth operation.
The 120 mm fan operates at speeds up to 2,400 RPM, delivering up to 83.35 CFM of airflow with a static pressure of 2.95 mm H₂O. The 140 mm fan reaches up to 1,850 RPM, providing an impressive 120 CFM of airflow at 2.4 mm H₂O. Noise levels are kept in check, with the 120 mm and 140 mm fans producing 33.3 dBA and 36.25 dBA at maximum speeds, respectively. Both fans feature premium liquid crystal polymer impellers, noise-dampening rings, and silicone mounts to minimize vibration and acoustic output.
